"Walking" & Squawking

These days, the only thing Cooper wants to do is wave "hi" to everything and everyone that goes by, but even more than that, Cooper just wants to walk, walk walk (with our help, of course). No matter where he is or what else we're doing, he pushes and pulls and crawls and scoots to get to somewhere he can pull up to standing, then reaches his sweet chubby little hand up and yelps in our direction to grab it so that he can take off. He is very emphatic about where he wants to go, and marches as fast as he can to whatever has caught his eye. Once he's reached where he wants to go, he explores it for a while, tries to pull it/tear it/rip it/tip it/push it, and once he's satisfied his curiosity, he reach his hands back up and is ready to keep moving.

He's very determined and if you try to distract him or steer him away from his destination, he steers you right back (or yells to be taken back on course). He can stand by himself for a little while, and can walk with only one adult hand to guide him, but he really prefers both hands to be held to maximize his speed when he cruises around, and will wave his free hand in the air to make sure you grab it before he takes off. Our sweet little boy is growing up so fast and it's so exciting (and scary!) to see him becoming so independent and mobile.

His second favorite thing to do, aside from walking, is to screech like a dinosaur. He can babble for long periods of time - his favorites are "bababababa" and "dadaya dadaya dadaya", but when he's excited and moving, nothing thrills him more than to really exercise his vocal cords. You can't tell from the video, but when he gets excited and starts screeching, he tenses his whole body and shakes with the overwhelming excitement of exploring this crazy world filled with things like side tables, laundry baskets, piles of blankets, and stacks of books!

We love our little Cooper SO much, and are nervous and excited for the day when he takes those first wobbly steps without our hands holding his sweet little ones.
