Happy Father's Day!!

Today was Josh's first Father's Day, and we decided to just relax and hang out as a family to enjoy the day. In honor of the day, I dressed Cooper as a mini-Josh:

Cooper is so lucky to have such an awesome daddy. Cooper gave me a list of his favorite things about his daddy this morning to share:

* I love when my daddy comes home from work, and the first thing he does is come straight to me, pick me up, throw me in the air, and tell me how much he loves me.

* I love how my daddy tells me all about whatever we are looking at, even if it's really complicated.

* Daddy is the best at giving me horsey rides. My favorite is "This is the way the ladies ride....this is the way the gentlemen ride...this is the way the cowboys ride!" Daddy has come close to hitting my head a few times on the air-tossing part of this ride, but it never fails to make me laugh hysterically.

* I love how silly my Daddy is. He'll do whatever it takes to make me smile, and by doing so teaching me how to laugh and have confidence that it's okay to be silly.

* Daddy is trying to make me left handed so that I can be a crafty pitcher someday just like he was.

* I love how my daddy spends every morning from about 6:30 to 7am with me to let mommy sleep. It's our bonding time (okay, maybe this is the part that mommy loves!)

Gumming It

Our sweet little guy it 8 months old and still has no teeth! Of course we have been absolutely sure that he is "about to cut a tooth" for about 4 months now, but none have made their appearance quite yet. It remains a convenient reason for us to make ourselves feel better whenever he gets fussy or extra drooly!

That hasn't stopped Cooper from wanting to chew SO badly. For several weeks, whenever we would eat, he would stare intently at us and squawk away, so excited to be observing what mommy and daddy were doing. A couple of weeks ago, he started smacking his jaw every time he saw food, and now he "chews" whenever we put anything (even water!) in his mouth:

Just like an adorable little old man, he gums away at food, and has now graduated to "chewing" little bits of chicken, blueberries, banana, pasta, and puffs for snacks. Between the gumming and scrunchy face, he's definitely keeping the "abuelito" theme going!!

8 Months Old!

Yesterday, I turned 8 months old!!

I love playing outside, and can be in the middle of crying, but as soon as I take a breath of fresh air I stop and stare at the trees and the sky and everything around me:

I'm getting more mobile and it's getting easier for me to get where I want to go. I'm still working on crawling but am getting closer and love testing it out, especially if there's something I really really want to get to:

I adore my big doggy brother Cody, singing songs with Mommy, playing with all of my wonderful friends at playgroups, and of course, making my scrunchy face.

My current favorite foods are sweet potatoes, green beans, pears, bananas, blueberries and yogurt. I've just started eating finger foods but am still working on getting things into my mouth. I'm still not the best sleeper at night, but I'm working very hard on it.

I am such a happy happy baby, and my mommy and daddy love me with all their hearts!

My Gigi and Me

Cooper's Gigi came to visit him over Memorial Day Weekend, and they had the best time together! Cooper loved showing Gigi his favorite toys:

And had so much fun playing in the warm weather outside:

Cooper loved showing Gigi all of his expressions - especially his scrunchy face and his "excited" face. He makes his mouth into an "O", like a little bird, and kicks his legs and waves his arm when something is particularly thrilling:
